The prepared multifunctional acrylate monomers were used as cross-linkers for the synthesis of polyacrylic acid by precipitation polymerization using 2,2'-azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as free radical initiator. Differential scanning calorimetry studies showed that the glass transition temperature behavior is significantly affected by the type and amount of MFAM employed. Viscosity measurements showed that the thickening effect depend upon the cross-linker type and concentration.
