Bacillus brevis-B2 was selected as the most patent lipase(s) producer among nine thermoalkalophilic bacterial isolates isolated from agro industrial wastes at 70oC and pH 10.5. Of the tested nutrient medium, tap water containing 1% fish wastes and 1% yeast extract is the best inducer for lipase synthesis by B. brevis B2. Maximum enzyme biosynthesis could be obtained after 24 hr of incubation. The optimal pH and temperature for enzyme formation are 11.5 and 70oC. Enzyme yield increased in presence of sucrose or lactose in the nutrient medium, also the presence of 100 ppm zinc sulphate and 500 ppm folic acid supported high induction of lipase by B. brevis growing under shaking condition and inocula size of 2ml/100ml culture medium. A very slight increase in enzyme formation occur under exposure of bacterial isolate to 1 KGy of γ-irradiation.

Ten methanolic, petroleum ether and water plant extracts from botanical species used in traditional medicine in Egypt to cure different diseases have been subject to a screening study to detect the potential antimicrobial activity of their extracts against Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger. The antimicrobial activity of the extracts were evaluated using colonies growing on solid medium, establishing the minimal concentration required to inhibit their In Vitro growth (MIC). The results revealed that the extracts from the plants under study using methanol exhibited strong antimicrobial activity than that of petroleum ether or water The methanolic plant extracts revealed that extracts of Ambrosiamaritime,Zizyphus Christi and Salvia officinalis possess strong In Vitro antimicrobial activity against the tested organisms than the other plant extracts used in this study. The separation, purification and characterization of the active agent(s) from Salvia officinalis leaveswas carried out using thin layer chromatography. Thephysicochemical studies of the purified active agent(s) including, spectroscopic characteristics and chemicalreactions was conducted. The biological activities of the purified active agent(s) i.e. MICs values were also estimated.

Field experiments were carried out at El-Shiekh Zowayed of North Sinai Governorate. The study included the application of three different types of chemical fertilizers namely; ammonium sulphate, potassium sulphate and calcium super phosphate. The First and second fertilizers were applied at three different levels, whereas the third was applied at only one level. The study investigates the effect of interaction between the three fertilizers. Thus, a combination between the three fertilizers at the three applied levels was added to a reclaimed sandy soil. Cumin (Cuminum cyminum L.) fruits were cultivated in treated and untreated sandy soils at 15 November in the growth season 2002/2003 and at 30 November in the growth season 2003/2004. The result obtained indicated an obvious increase in different investigated growth parameters as shoot length, fresh and dry weight of shoot, number of branches, number of umbels and number of fruits per plant. Moreover a marked increase in cumin shoot system of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, total carbohydrates and total proteins was obtained in response to different treatments under investigation, if compared with the control group. There were no appreciable differences in the response of cumin plants to fertilization treatments at the two seasons of cultivation.

This study was designed to evaluate the immune responses in children infected with E. histolytica after treatment with metronidazole. Immunological evaluation was performed by measurement of secreted cytokines (interleukin, IL-10-tumor necrosis factor-α in blood of children, on the other hand E. histolytica cyst output in children stool was measured. The present investigation is directed to study the therapeutic effect of different doses of metronidazole a treatment known for controlling of E. histolyticainfection in children. The children infected with E. histolytica were divided into three group according to the dose of metronidazole(Flagyl syrup). The 1st, second and third group were treated with 30, 25 and 15 mg /kg per day for 7 days, in 3 doses respectively. The results of the present study revealed a significant reduction in cyst count in stool of children treated by metronidazole at dose of 30 mg /kg in comparison with control un treated. The data also revealed that serum IL-10 and TNF-alpha were significantly increased as an immunological response for children treated with metronidazole at dose of 30 mg/kg body weight in comparison with children of dose 15 mg and untreated control group. Also the NO level revealed significant decrease in children at dose 30 mg / kg in comparison with 25 and 15 mg/kg group.

Ascaris lumbricoides remains the most common intestinal nematode in the world. The cytokine are considered the arm of the adaptive immune system is mediated by T helper cells (Th1and Th2) and related cytokines, including interferon (IFN)-γ and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, and has been reported to play a pivotal role in the control of many parasites . This study investigates the antihelmintic effect of natural product (Allicin garlic) extracts and also synthetic drugs (Piperazine Citrate ). Our target was to study the effect of natural and synthetic drugs on immune induction of infected rats by Ascaris lumbricoides . Ninety male rats Rattus Rattuswere used. The rats were divided into 7 groups. The 1st group was control clean, and the second group was infected control . The groups ( 3, 4, 5,and 6 ) were treated by Allicin garlic extracts i.m 8 times twice weekly at 0.1, 0.2 , 0.3 and 0.4 mg/kg respectively). The Seventh group received Piperazine Citrate drug at dose 10 mg/kg body weight 8 times twice weekly. All groups were scarified after 30 days and investigated with the immunoresponse (cytokine) IL-10 and TNF – alpha, paralleled with measurements the ALT, AST, ALP, GGT and Malondialdehyde as an immune factor . The results of the current study revealed that the levels of IL-10 and TNF- alpha were increased significantly in groups treated with natural product (Allicin garlic) . also our data reveled that the MDA level was decreased significantly in groups treated with natural product (Allicin garlic) . On the other hand liver function ALT , AST , ALP and GGT were reveled the significant increased in groups treated by natural product (Allicin garlic as well asPiperazine Citrate drug .
